DescriptionThe whole story▼

An enduro is not only a series of flat-out tests. Between them lie the liaison sections, often long stretches of tracks and trails that link one test to the next, and each ends at a time control where the rider must check in on schedule. On a Husqvarna FE 250 these sections can add up to hours of riding in a day, much of it standing. Getting through them without wasting energy is part of the race. Accossato makes enlarged footpegs in Ergal for the FE 250 of 2017 to 2023, in orange or black.

Key Features

  • Enlarged footpegs for the Husqvarna FE 250, model years 2017 to 2023
  • Ergal, a high-strength aluminium alloy
  • Broader support for long hours between the tests
  • Accossato's intended use: motocross, enduro and off-road
  • Orange or black
  • Pair, one for each side
  • Other Accossato footpeg sets for the FE 250 of 2014–2016 and 2024–2026
  • No German ABE; for competition

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato won an enduro world title in 1985, and enduro is one of the three uses it names for these pegs, alongside motocross and general off-road riding. Its description is simply: enlarged footpegs in Ergal. Ergal is a high-strength aluminium alloy, and the larger size gives the sole of the boot more to rest on over a long day. The set is made up of a left and a right peg, and for the FE 250 of these model years you can have it in orange or black.

Between the Time Checks

Every rider carries a time card or a transponder, and the organisers set the minutes allowed for each liaison. Arriving late costs penalties; arriving far too early brings nothing, since riders normally wait outside the control until their minute comes up. The skill lies in riding the liaison at a steady, economical pace, with enough in hand to deal with a fall, a wrong turn or a quick repair, and without burning energy that will be needed in the next test.

On the FE 250 much of that riding happens on the pegs. Standing through rough stretches spares the back, lets the legs do the absorbing and gives a better view of the track ahead. Over the hours, though, the feet start to complain: a narrow peg concentrates pressure under the sole, and cramped feet make for sloppy riding. A broader platform spreads the load across more of the boot. Many riders also change their stance now and then, moving between the arch and the ball of the foot, to keep the circulation going.

Fitment and Compatibility

This is the FR798, which Accossato assigns to the FE 250 from 2017 to 2023. The earlier bikes of 2014 to 2016 use the FR795, and the newest generation, 2024 to 2026, the FR809. Check the model year before ordering and look at the photos and colours of all three sets; if you have questions, just ask us. The FR798 is also listed in our shop for the GasGas EC 250, the Husqvarna FC 350 and the Husqvarna TC 125.

Road Approval

No approval of any kind, whether ABE or test report, is available to us for these footpegs. We offer them for competition.
