DescriptionThe whole story▼
A racing compound on a Kawasaki GTR 1400 is an unusual choice, yet Accossato lists its EV2 racing mixture for the AGPA107 front pad of this bike, and a small number of owners do take their tourer onto closed circuits for high-speed sessions. The pad fits the GTR 1400 from 2007 to 2016 and is intended purely for that kind of use: hard stops on a racetrack, repeated lap after lap, on a heavy machine.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes EV2 racing as one of its top compounds for competition. That is how we present it for the GTR 1400: as a circuit pad, not a touring one. The manufacturer also makes general claims for its pads, including low wear, fade resistance through limited heat build-up and high stopping power. On a heavy bike braking from high speed on a track, those properties are put to a demanding test. The EV2 compound is bonded to the AGPA107 plate.
A Heavy Bike on a Fast Circuit
Stopping a big tourer from high speed at the end of a long straight asks a great deal of the front brakes, far more than the same stop on a lighter sports bike. On a circuit, that stop is repeated every lap, and heat builds quickly. A racing compound is designed for that load, which is the reason it may interest the few owners who take a GTR 1400 onto the track.
Preparation matters even more on a heavy bike. Fit fresh fluid, check that both front calipers work freely and look closely at the discs. During the session, give the brakes time to reach working temperature, and after it, let the bike roll for a cooling lap without heavy braking.
Between sessions, inspect the pads for glazing or unusual wear and check the discs for signs of overheating. Clean the pistons before pushing them back when changing sets, and pump the lever until it is firm before the next run.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues AGPA107 for the front of the Kawasaki GTR 1400 from 2007 to 2016, including the ABS version. With two front calipers, the full front requires two boxes, as each box contains one caliper set. The GTR 1400 rear takes AGPP143, and Accossato also lists the DK235 disc.
Road Approval
AGPA107EV2 comes without an ABE or German approval mark in our hands. It is sold for racing and competition.
