DescriptionThe whole story▼
Turismo Veloce means fast touring, and that is the job MV Agusta gave the Turismo Veloce 800: covering long distances briskly on a three-cylinder crossover with luggage on board. On a trip like that the bike is never quite the same from morning to evening. It leaves with a full tank and freshly packed cases, perhaps carries a passenger for part of the way, and rolls up to the hotel with the tank nearly empty. The Accossato EDF015 is a machined front brake lever for the Turismo Veloce 800 of 2014 to 2017, mounted on the original master cylinder and adjustable in reach.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800, 2014 to 2017
- Fitted to the original master cylinder
- Reach adjustable at the hub
- Standard length about 138 mm in all colours
- Short blade in five colours, long blade in four
- CNC-machined and anodised aluminium, black hub
- Fixed blade without a folding joint
- No German ABE documented; sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
A touring bike collects kilometres, and the parts you touch most are the first to show them. The EDF015 is cut from solid aluminium by CNC machines and then anodised, so its colour belongs to the metal surface itself rather than to a layer that could wear through where your fingers rest. The hub is black on every version and carries the pivot and the reach adjuster; the blade is anodised in whichever colour you pick. There is no folding joint, and nothing that could start to rattle on a long, broken road: the lever is a fixed design, one piece from hub to tip.
A Heavier Bike in the Morning
Weight changes the way a motorcycle brakes. With a full tank, packed side cases and possibly a passenger, the Turismo Veloce carries noticeably more mass into every bend and needs more distance to stop. After a few hours on the road, the tank is lighter and the bike feels livelier again. Experienced touring riders adapt to this without thinking about it, braking a little earlier and more gently while the bike is heavy. The lever helps when the first part of its travel is easy to meter. Set the reach so that the blade meets your fingers while the hand is relaxed, in the gloves you tour in. On a loaded bike, a long blade in blue, gold, green or orange gives slightly more leverage for the same finger force, while the standard length stays closest to the original. Before a long trip, check that the brake light comes on as soon as the lever starts to move.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF015 for the Turismo Veloce 800 from 2014 to 2017. It takes the place of the stock lever on the original front brake master cylinder. The ESM048 is Accossato's clutch lever for the same bikes and years; ordered together, both levers can be adjusted to the same gloves and finished in the same colour.
Road Approval
The EDF015 has no documented German ABE. We therefore sell it for circuit use rather than for the road.
