Fork tubes are the structural part of the front end and carry the braking load into the yokes.

Key Features

Öhlins part number 04760-38

Dimension B 54 mm

Dimension C 526 mm

Original Öhlins service part

Dimension A 50 mm

Where It Sits

At 50 mm, 54 mm, 526 mm it fits one position only; the next size up carries a different number. Fork legs are matched left and right on most Öhlins forks and are listed separately. Top caps carry the adjusters and the preload mechanism. A fork tube that has been bent is scrap: straightening changes the wall and it bends again.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. The exploded drawing for your unit names the number; if you do not have it, we do.

Identifying the Right Part

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 04760-38. Öhlins states dimension a 50 mm, dimension b 54 mm, dimension c 526 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Inner tubes are coated because they run in bushings and seals for their whole life. Bushings in the fork carry the side load; play there shows up as knocking under braking.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 04760-38

Category: Outer Tubes

Dimension A: 50 mm

Dimension B: 54 mm

Dimension C: 526 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/04760-38_34661057-dcae-444e-bcac-a7896f888a6d.png?v=1788873170
