Where It Sits
This one measures 46 mm, 135 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. Corrosion inside a tube is terminal: it cannot be honed out without changing the clearance. Twin-tube dampers use two concentric tubes, and both are listed separately. The cylinder tube is the working bore: the piston runs inside it and every damping force is reacted by its wall.
Original Öhlins Part
An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise.
Getting the Number Right
Öhlins identifies this position by the number 01110-22 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. diameter 46 mm, length 135 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Bore finish decides how well the piston band seals; a scored tube leaks damping past the piston. Öhlins gives the tube its diameter and its working length as a pair — a tube of the same bore but different length belongs to a different unit.
