The cheek pads decide how an X.R3R holds your head once the visor is down. They press lightly against your cheeks and jaw, keep the shell from rocking at speed and fill the space between your face and the EPS liner. This listing is a genuine Nexx replacement pair for the X.R3R racing full-face, sold in the seven helmet sizes from XXS to XXL.
When a new pair makes sense
Foam relaxes over time. After a few seasons of track days and hot summer rides the pads compress, the helmet starts to move when you shake your head, and wind noise creeps in around the jaw. Torn fabric, a broken press stud or a pad that no longer springs back after washing are further reasons. Some riders also keep a second set so that one pair can dry while the other is in use.
What you see in the photo
The Nexx picture shows a left and a right pad covered in black fabric, each with a cut-out at ear height and a red pull tab hanging from the lower edge. Those red tabs belong to the emergency cheek pad system that Nexx lists for the X.R3R: they let first responders slide the pads out before the helmet is taken off an injured rider. Leave them accessible when you fit the pads.
Choosing the size
Pick the variant that matches the size printed on the label of your helmet, from XXS to XXL. The pads are sized to the helmet size, not to the outer shell, so two helmets on the same shell can still need different pads. Nexx does not publish a separate thickness range for these pads, so a tighter or looser fit than standard is not something this listing promises.
Fitting and care
Nexx describes the X.R3R interior as removable and washable. Take the old pads out from the bottom of the helmet, clean the area behind them while it is open, then press the new pads into place until every fastener sits home. Wash fabric parts by hand in lukewarm water with mild soap and let them dry in the air, away from a radiator.

Nexx lists this part for the Nexx X.R3R. The part page does not name individual versions, and the new X.R3R Speedcore uses an X-Matrix 2 shell instead of carbon. If you ride a Speedcore, send us your helmet's article number before you order and we will check it for you.
