DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Ténéré 700 is the adventure bike that left the electronics out. The JP PD YA045 replaces its right-hand switch with milled Ergal on a universal clamp pattern.
Key Features
- Yamaha Ténéré 700 (2019–2022)
- Universal hole pattern for either master cylinder
- Full street control set
- Black anodised
- CNC-milled Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
Deliberately Analogue
No riding modes, no traction control worth the name, no electronic suspension. Yamaha built the Ténéré 700 around a steel frame, long-travel suspension and the CP2 twin, and left out everything that would have added weight and cost. It was a considerable gamble and it worked.
A Rally Bike You Can Buy
Twenty-one inch front wheel, 210 millimetres of travel, a flat seat and a narrow waist. The riding position is set up for standing, which is unusual honesty in a class where most machines are designed around a seated tourer.
Controls Meet the Ground
Any bike ridden on this terrain falls over eventually, usually at walking pace. The end of the handlebar reaches the ground first, and a solid milled body deforms where a clipped moulding splits at the clamp.
Standing Changes the Reach
Off road the hands come to the bar from above and further forward. Controls that fell naturally under the thumb while seated sit at a different angle, and machined relief between them is what makes them findable either way.
Universal Clamp Geometry
Ténéré owners fit hand guards, bar risers and frequently a different master cylinder. The universal plate accepts both bolt arrangements, which keeps the cockpit build flexible.
Dust Before Water
Fine grit is more destructive to switchgear than rain, because it works into a contact and stays. Sealed elements inside a housing with no moulded seam give it nowhere to enter.
The First Generation
This fitment covers 2019 to 2022, before Yamaha revised the bike with a new dash and adjustable ABS. The two are close in appearance and differ electrically.
