DescriptionThe whole story▼
Six parts covering the front of the ZX-6R: the race cowl, both side panels, the two cover panels that sit over them, and the brackets that locate the lot. No belly pan, no tail.
Key Features
- Upper race fairing CK27210 without lighting apertures
- Side panels CK27231 and CK27232 with cover panels CK27236 and CK27238
- Stainless side panel brackets IN2701K
- Carbon throughout, prepreg inner skins, autoclave cured
- Exposed weave, unlacquered and ready for paint
Four Panels Per Side, Not Two
This set contains more mouldings than its equivalent on most other machines, because the ZX-6R flank is built in two layers. That is worth understanding when comparing prices between bikes: the number here buys a structural panel and a sacrificial cover on each side, and the cover is the part that will be reordered. Anyone pricing this against a single-layer set on another model is not comparing the same thing.
When the Front Is All You Need
Two situations account for most of these. A bike that already runs a race tail from a previous season and has lost its front to a crash. And a machine being converted in stages — front first, so it can be ridden, with the pan and the tail following when the calendar allows. Neither needs a seat, and paying for one is money that could have been a spare cover.
What This Does Not Get You Through Scrutineering
The belly pan is not in this set, and most circuit regulations require an oil-retaining lower fairing before a bike can start. CK27220 is ordered separately, together with its bracket. On that bracket: Carbonin list IN2702K explicitly as the right-hand one and we have not been able to confirm a left-hand counterpart — ask us to check it with them before the pan is ordered rather than after.
Fitment
