DescriptionThe whole story▼
Scrutineering at most national championships will turn a ZX-10RR away if the crankcase covers are unprotected. It is one of the few modifications that is not a choice: no guards, no grid slot. CP012 is Bonamici Racing's complete kit for the ZX-10RR, protecting the alternator side and the pick-up side together and arriving with its own screws and spacers.
Key Features
- Covers both crankcase sides in one part number, which is what a technical inspection is looking for.
- Cut from solid high-strength aluminium alloy for impact resistance rather than sacrificial deformation.
- Conducts heat away from the cases instead of trapping it, so the kit can stay on the bike permanently.
- Fitting hardware included — screws and spacers are in the box.
- Made in Italy. Part number CP012.
Protecting an Engine That Is Not Standard
The RR's top end is the reason the bike exists: lighter pistons, titanium connecting rods, a higher ceiling than the ZX-10R. None of that survives a case breach, and none of it is cheap to put back. The covers themselves are ordinary aluminium castings and they crack like any other, so the value of a guard scales with what is behind it. On an RR that value is considerably higher than on the standard bike.
One Kit Across Three Generations
Bonamici lists CP012 for the 2011-2015, 2016-2020 and 2021-onwards machines alike. The crankcase architecture has carried across those model changes, so a rider moving up to a newer RR can take the protection with them — a detail that matters if you campaign a bike for a season and sell it on.
Fitment and Compatibility
Listed by the manufacturer for:
- Kawasaki ZX-10 RR — model years 2011 through 2026
Check your series regulations as well: some require covers to a specific standard rather than simply present.
Road Approval
None is published or supplied. For competition use the relevant document is your series rulebook, not a German type-approval.
