DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Sintered (ST) version of Accossato's AGPP91 rear pad fits the Zero FXE ZF7.2 of 2022. It is aimed at FXE riders who commute in all weather, occasionally take a passenger and want the rear brake to respond the same way on a freezing morning as on a summer evening. The sintered formula is made to keep its grip level steady across temperatures and to work reliably when the road is wet.

Key Features

  • Rear pad AGPP91 for the Zero FXE 2022
  • Sintered (ST) compound
  • Constant grip hot or cold, according to Accossato
  • Reliable response on wet roads
  • Suits all-season commuting
  • Alternatives for this rear pad: OR, STMX
  • Two pads per box

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says the sintered mixture keeps a high, constant grip level at high and low temperatures and grips well in the wet. On the rear of a year-round commuter, that steadiness is the key benefit. The company's pads are designed to wear slowly and to limit heat build-up, helping the set last through a long season of daily use.

Rain on the Way Home

A sudden shower on the way home turns the road slippery and makes riders cautious. Gentle use of the rear brake helps settle the FXE before the front takes over, and a sintered pad gives a clear, steady response for that. With a pillion on board, the rear brake does more of the work, and a consistent pedal feel becomes even more useful. After wet rides, rinse the rear caliper, check that the pads move freely and look for corrosion on the piston. Replace the brake fluid at the recommended interval.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPP91 for the rear of the Zero FXE ZF7.2, 2022. The FXE's front caliper takes AGPA92. Fit both rear pads at once and pump the pedal several times before setting off. On the first ride, try a few gentle stops before relying on full rear braking. Winter riders should also look at the rear caliper bracket and slide pins now and then, because road salt tends to gather there. A caliper that no longer floats freely wears one pad faster than the other and leaves the disc warm after a ride.
