DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ducati built the Panigale V4 R as the homologation base for its World Superbike racing from 2019, and many of these bikes end up as dedicated track machines, stripped of lights and mirrors and dressed in race bodywork. The Accossato LV013 suits that kind of build. It is a folding brake lever machined from aluminium, with an adjustable reach, and it takes the place of the stock lever on the original master cylinder. Accossato lists it for the 2019 V4 R.
Key Features
- Folding brake lever for the Ducati Panigale V4 R, model year 2019
- Mounts on the original brake master cylinder
- Blade on a hinge, able to fold away when struck
- Distance to the grip adjustable at the base
- Blade with RST lightening cut-out or solid NRST blade
- Black base; blade in black, blue, gold, green, orange, red, silver or titanium
- One standard length
- No German ABE documented: for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The LV013 starts as aluminium stock, which Accossato mills to shape on CNC machines before anodising each part. There are two of them. The base stays on the pivot of the master cylinder, holds the reach adjuster and is always black. The blade is a separate piece in the colour you order, connected to the base by a hinge, so it can swing out of the way when something hits it. Titanium appears in the colour list as an anodised shade; the metal is aluminium throughout. Order the RST version and the blade gets a lightening cut-out, while the NRST blade is left solid.
Race Bodywork and a Bare Cockpit
Turning a V4 R into a track bike usually starts with what comes off: mirrors, number plate holder, indicators, and the road fairing swapped for race panels. What remains at the handlebar is little more than grips, switchgear and two levers, and the brake lever becomes one of the most exposed parts on the right side. In a slide, its tip is often among the first things to touch the tarmac or dig into the gravel. A lever without a joint can bend or snap at that moment. The hinge on the LV013 gives the blade the chance to fold back instead, which can leave a usable lever once the bike is picked up. How the bike lands decides whether that works, so see it as better odds, not a promise.
A race conversion is also a good time to reset the lever position. Once the bike wears its track bodywork and the rider sits on it in full leathers, the adjuster on the black base moves the blade nearer to the grip or further from it.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the LV013 for the Panigale V4 R of 2019, under its 998 reference. Two more folding levers exist for this bike: the LV015 for the clutch and the RA002, a brake lever with a remote adjuster set at 90 degrees, both listed for 2019. If you prefer a lever without a hinge, Accossato's fixed EDF011 covers the V4 R from 2019 to 2020. Later model years of the V4 R are not part of this listing.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for the LV013, so we sell it for use on the race track.
