Three hundred and ten euro for a hundred grams. Put that way it sounds absurd, and Spark does not dress it up — this is the first piece of a modular titanium exhaust, and its job is as much to be the right starting point as to save weight on its own.

What Modular Means Here

Spark splits the Monster 937 exhaust into pieces that can be bought one at a time. This primary pipe is the section closest to the cylinder head. Behind it can sit either the motorcycle's own catalytic collector or Spark's titanium racing collector GDU8527, and behind that either the standard silencers or a pair of Dyno slip-ons.

The point of the arrangement is that an owner can start anywhere. Fitting the primary pipe alone changes nothing about how the bike is registered.

The Belly Fairing Will Not Go Back On

This is the sentence to read before ordering. Spark states plainly that the article is not compatible with the engine belly fairing. If the motorcycle wears one — factory accessory or aftermarket — it comes off and stays off.

On a bike that has never had one, the point is moot. On one that has, it is a decision and not a detail.

Titanium Where the Heat Starts

The primary pipe sees the hottest gas in the system, straight out of the port. Titanium handles that repeatedly without the scaling a thin steel pipe eventually shows, and it is where the material earns its place even on a section this short.

The weight difference to the standard pipe is a hundred grams. Nobody buys this article for that alone.

Ducati Monster 937, 2021 to 2025. Combines with the original exhaust or with the Spark titanium racing collector GDU8527. Downstream, the Dyno slip-ons are GDU0839TOMC with a carbon cap and GDU0839TOMN and GDU0839TOMR with black and red anodised caps. Not compatible with the engine belly fairing.

Road Approval

Spark lists this primary pipe as approved. It sits ahead of the catalytic converter and does not remove it, which is what allows the approval to stand — provided the rest of the exhaust behind it is also approved. Combined with the unapproved GDU8527 collector, the motorcycle as a whole is not road legal.
