DescriptionThe whole story▼
Öhlins lists part number FKR 229 for one machine: the Ducati Panigale V4 S built 2022–2025. The Panigale V4 S keeps its own fork legs, axle clamps and mounting.
Key Features
- Supplied with Öhlins spring 04744-95
- Fitted spring rate 9.5, chosen by Öhlins for the Panigale V4 S
- 125 mm of travel at the damper
- Bolts to the Ducati Panigale V4 S (2022–2025) using the standard mounting points
Fitted to the Panigale V4 S
Track use raises oil temperature quickly, and a damper that fades takes confidence with it. Öhlins covers the 4-year production run of this generation with a single part number, which means the mounting and the linkage stayed unchanged across it.
Construction and Material Quality
Öhlins machines its own critical components instead of buying them in, and the tolerances are where the money goes. Everything in the kit is serviceable with standard Öhlins parts. Two units carrying the same part number behave the same way out of the box, which is the whole point of testing each one.
About the FKR 200 Range
The FKR 200 series covers forks that the earlier FKR 100 numbers do not fit. Compression and rebound remain separate, pressurised circuits. The standard fork legs, yokes and axle clamps all stay on the motorcycle.
Damping Performance
Spring part number 04744-95 is a separate catalogue item, so a rate change is inexpensive. Installed length comes to 743 mm. The available stroke of 125 mm sets how much wheel travel the shim stack has to control. The spring is wound to 9.5, and alternative rates are catalogue items. Compression and rebound become separately adjustable, which on most standard forks they were not. The kit is re-valvable, so a suspension technician can go beyond the click range if needed.
Fitment and Compatibility
Öhlins releases FKR 229 against the Ducati Panigale V4 S (2022–2025). 2 machines in the range take this number, the Ducati Panigale V4 S among them. Öhlins notes for this application: For the Öhlins FL 969 fork *Replaces FKR 129* Öhlins lists this fitment under the model designations Panigale V4 S (Öhlins FL 969), Panigale V4S (Öhlins FL2201).
Road Approval
Road approval: none for Germany. Öhlins supplies this part without a German type approval for the Ducati Panigale V4 S, which means it is not covered for use on public roads under StVZO. Track and closed-course use only.
Important Notes
- Fits models with the original Öhlins fork only.
Fitting and Setup Service
This is not a part to rush. Öhlins recommends installation by an authorised service centre, and we are an authorised Öhlins service centre — fitting, servicing and setup all happen here. Get in touch if you would like the work done with the order.
