DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP MJ 001 sits between the Diavel 1260 S's loom and its injectors and adjusts how long each one stays open, which is the whole of what a power module does.
Key Features
- Ducati Diavel 1260 S (2019–2023)
- Preset fuel module, no programming required
- Corrects the mixture without remapping the original electronics
- Plug-and-play with model-specific wiring
- Around 200 g, fitted in an evening
- Unplugs at any time, nothing is written to the motorcycle
Ohlins on a Cruiser
The S brings adjustable suspension and better brakes to a motorcycle that is heavier and faster than its styling suggests.
Fuel Consumption
Expect no meaningful change. A richer cruise setting costs a little and a smoother throttle hand saves a little, and in practice the two cancel. Nobody should buy this expecting to notice anything at the pump.
The Closed Loop Window
Modern controllers only trim against the oxygen sensor in a narrow band of load and revs. Outside that band the map runs open loop, and that is exactly where an added correction has room to work.
Model-Specific Wiring
JetPrime supplies the harness for the chosen motorcycle with the correct connectors moulded on. It is the part of the product that costs the most to develop and the part nobody thinks about.
The Homologation Compromise
Every production motorcycle is mapped to pass a test in a laboratory, using a reference fuel, at a reference temperature, with a reference exhaust. A rider meets none of those conditions on an ordinary morning.
Expectations, Set Properly
The manufacturer promises response and smoothness. Read as a power part it disappoints; read as what it says it is, it satisfies consistently.
Why Not Simply Adjust the Fuel Screw
Because there is no fuel screw. Injection removed every mechanical adjustment a carburettor offered, and everything that used to be a screwdriver job is now a decision made in software.
Fitting It in Winter
There is no reason to wait for good weather. The job happens in a garage, needs no test ride to complete and the result is available on the first dry morning.
