DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Ducati Hyperstrada 821 is the touring-minded variant of Ducati's supermoto-styled road bike, and touring often means two people on one bike. For the person on the back, the footpegs matter more than they look: they are where a passenger pushes when the bike brakes, and they carry the passenger's feet for hours at a time. Accossato's FT102 touring footpegs for the Hyperstrada 821 of 2013 to 2017 are CNC-machined aluminium, anodised black with a red insert, and notched to hold a sole more firmly.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls these parts touring rearsets, and they are made in a straightforward way. Each footpeg is shaped from aluminium by CNC machining and anodised black, and a red insert adds a touch of Ducati colour. The detail that matters for comfort and safety is the notch Accossato builds into the peg to increase the grip of the boot. Front and rear pegs share that description and are sold as separate sets, so rider and passenger pegs can be ordered independently. For a passenger who rides in whatever shoes were packed, the notch is the part that counts.
Where the Passenger Pushes
A passenger has no handlebar to hold. When the rider brakes, the passenger's body wants to slide forward into the rider's back, and what holds it back is a grab handle or the rider's waist, plus the passenger's own feet on the pegs. A good passenger braces with the legs, pressing through the balls of the feet, and keeps the knees against the rider's hips. If a shoe slips off the peg at that moment, the passenger's weight goes forward unchecked, and the rider feels it through the handlebar. Many passengers ride in trainers or casual shoes with smooth soles, which slide more easily than riding boots. The notch of the FT102 gives those soles a better hold than a smooth peg. For longer trips on the Hyperstrada 821, agree on a few basics before setting off: feet stay on the pegs whenever the bike is moving, even at walking pace, and a tap on the shoulder means the passenger wants a stop.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FT102 for the Hyperstrada 821 from 2013 to 2017, naming the standard bike, the Low Seat version of 2015 and models for the US, Brazilian and Thai markets; only the Thai version is listed for 2017. Rider and passenger footpegs are separate products. Have a workshop fit them with Ducati's tightening values and thread locker where the manual requires it, and check that the gear lever and brake pedal still suit the rider's boots with the new front pegs.
Road Approval
Road approval is missing here: we have found no ABE and no Teilegutachten for the FT102, so it is sold for track use. On German roads the Hyperstrada keeps its original, approved footpegs.
