DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Z7 Hybrid, introduced by Kawasaki for 2024, pairs a petrol twin with an electric motor and can move off without the engine running at all. That makes it unusual in any paddock, and it breaks a habit riders of conventional bikes take for granted: that a silent motorcycle is a switched-off motorcycle. Around fuel, that assumption matters. For the Z7 Hybrid of 2024, listed with us as the Z7 Hybrid 450, Accossato offers the FC126, a machined aluminium cap for the tank with a quick-closing pawl and six pin colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Kawasaki Z7 Hybrid (Z7 Hybrid 450), 2024
- Accossato entry: Z 450 7 Hybrid, 2024
- Made entirely of CNC-machined aluminium
- Robust and durable according to Accossato; new design
- Quick-closing pawl, pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Replacement pawl sold separately
- No German ABE on record; for circuit use
Construction and Material Quality
The FC126 is aluminium all the way through, machined on CNC equipment, and Accossato rates it as robust and long-lasting. It has a new design, and its quick-closing pawl opens and shuts the Z7 Hybrid's tank quickly; however advanced the drive, the filler remains as mechanical as on any other bike. The pawl's pin comes in six colours. If the pawl is damaged, Accossato supplies it separately.
Quiet Is Not the Same as Off
On a conventional motorcycle a quiet engine usually means the bike is off. On the Z7 Hybrid the system can be ready to move while the petrol engine is silent, for instance in electric mode. Before refuelling, make it a firm habit to switch the ignition off completely and check the display, and only then open the cap. The same goes for anyone helping you: explain that the bike can be live without making a sound. Put the Z7 Hybrid on its stand, let hot parts cool if it has just come in from a session, and pour slowly with the can on the ground beside you. The hybrid drive does not change the basic rules around petrol: no sparks, no smoking, no open flames nearby. Once the FC126 is closed, check its seat, wipe away any drops, and switch the bike back on only when the filler area is dry.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list gives the Z 450 7 Hybrid of 2024 for the FC126; in our catalogue this is the Z7 Hybrid 450. The FC126 also turns up in our garage under the Ninja 7 Hybrid, its faired counterpart. Only the 2024 model year appears on the list, so compare a later bike with it before ordering.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE and no documented parts certificate for the FC126, which is why we offer it for track use. On the road the Z7 Hybrid keeps its original cap, which normally locks.
