DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Panigale 899 brought the Panigale shape to a smaller twin in 2014, and with its more approachable character it became a popular first superbike for riders who wanted to learn the circuit rather than conquer it. A track school is the natural next step. There, instructors ask riders to try new lines, brake later and move their bodies in ways they have never practised, and an occasional slow slide in a tight corner is part of learning. Accossato's PF033 front axle sliders are listed for the Panigale 899 of 2014 and 2015.

Key Features

  • Front axle sliders for the Ducati Panigale 899 of 2014 and 2015
  • Accossato PF033, one protector per side
  • Aluminium and plastic, black finish
  • Spacers, screws and other mounting parts supplied, according to Accossato
  • Designed as a first point of contact when the bike goes down
  • Same pair listed for the Panigale 1199 and Panigale 959
  • No German ABE available; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The PF033 set consists of a left and a right protector, each made from aluminium and plastic and finished in black. Accossato packs spacers and screws with them and states that all parts for mounting are in the kit. On the Panigale 899 the sliders are there to be the first thing at the front of the bike to meet the ground in a slide, so that the fork and the axle area take less of the impact. A slider can only reduce damage, not exclude it, and after a hard contact it should be renewed.

A Day at a Circuit Riding School

Most circuit schools follow a similar pattern: a morning briefing, short sessions behind an instructor, and time in between to talk through what went right and wrong. The exercises build step by step, from lines and reference points to braking and body position, and good instructors adapt them to each rider. On a Panigale 899, the temptation is to try everything at once. Resist it. Change one thing per session, and if something feels wrong, slow down and ask. Falls on these courses are rarely fast; they tend to happen in slow corners, when a rider adds lean angle or brakes a little too hard while still turning. If it happens to you, let the bike go, move off the track to a safe place and wait for the marshals. Back in the pit box, look at the sliders, levers and footrests before the next session, and let the school decide whether the bike may go out again.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato gives the PF033 for the Panigale 899 of 2014 and 2015, which is exactly how we have listed it. No further Accossato protection part is shown for this model. The same sliders are catalogued in our shop for the Panigale 1199 and for the Panigale 959, which replaced the 899 in 2016. Please compare your Panigale 899 with the application list before ordering, or ask us to check it for you.

Road Approval

Without an ABE or a parts certificate on file, we supply the PF033 for circuit and competition use.
