What a Ceramic Treatment Is

Ceramic coating on an exhaust is a sprayed and heat-cured surface layer, applied and baked rather than painted. Unlike paint it does not blister off a component that cycles between ambient temperature and several hundred degrees, and unlike bare stainless it does not go blue-brown where the metal runs hottest.

Spark offers it as an option on the pre-silencer box across this range, which tells you what it is for: the box is the largest visible surface in the system and the one that discolours first. Black is a finish decision, and Spark treats it as one — the mechanical specification of this system is identical to GTR8824TOM.

Where the Extra Money Goes

Two hundred and seventy-five euros separates this from the untreated version. Nothing about the collectors, the catalyst, the silencer or the homologation changes.

Whether that is worth it depends on the bike. On a Street Triple in a dark colour the black box disappears into the underside and the titanium silencer becomes the only thing you see. On a light-coloured bike the contrast is the point. Either way it stays black — that is the argument over a can of high-temperature paint, which will not.

Still a Road-Legal Exhaust

The finish does not touch the approval. The catalysed 3-in-1 pipe, the pre-silencer box and the dual lambda arrangement are the same as in the untreated system, and the whole assembly carries the Euro5+ homologation as supplied.

Spark developed these systems to raise performance without an ECU remap, using a catalyst with racing cell count and a rich noble-metal impregnation. That remains true here: no dyno time, no flashed map, no explaining anything at the next service.

Fitment & Compatibility

Triumph Street Triple 765 R, RS and S, 2023 through 2026. Without the ceramic treatment it is GTR8824TOM. The lateral-mount versions are GTR8825TOM with the Grid-O and GTR8826TOM with the Konix Evo; the lateral Konix Evo with black ceramic is GTR8826BOM.
