DescriptionThe whole story▼

In a slow fall, a faired superbike often touches down on its fairing first. On a naked bike like the Tuono V4 1100 Factory, the wide handlebar is the outermost point, and the levers are among the first things to make contact. Aprilia's V4 naked of 2015 and 2016, the first Tuono with the 1100 engine, was built for fast road riding and the occasional circuit. For that bike Accossato makes the AGS01, a silver clutch lever modelled on the original.

Key Features

  • Clutch lever in original shape for the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory, 2015 and 2016
  • Silver
  • Left handlebar
  • Accossato: increased resistance after damage or a crash, from the manufacturing process
  • A good-value replacement
  • One lever
  • No German ABE; sold for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Its outline is that of the clutch lever the Tuono V4 1100 Factory came with, a design Accossato describes as original spare parts type and developed with value for money in mind. According to Accossato, the manufacturing process makes the lever more robust once it has taken a knock or been through a crash. It is silver, and Accossato, founded in 1969 in Moncalieri near Turin, publishes nothing further about it; we pass on only what the company states.

Why Naked Bikes Land on Their Levers

The geometry is simple. Without a fairing, the handlebar is the widest part of the bike, and the lever ends reach furthest out. In a tip-over at a standstill, the bar end and the lever touch the ground first, followed by the footpeg and the engine cover. Bar-end weights and crash protection take some of the impact, but the lever is still exposed. After a fall, check the clutch lever for bends and cracks and make sure it returns freely. A damaged one comes off: clean the pivot, grease it lightly, fit the new lever, adjust the free play the way the owner's manual shows and see that the switch at the lever still does its job. On the Tuono V4 1100 Factory, as on any bike, the clutch is used at every start and stop, so it should work smoothly before you set off again.

Fitment and Compatibility

On Accossato's list, the AGS01 covers the Tuono V4 1100 Factory of 2015 and 2016. With us, the same part is also listed for the RR version of those years and for the RSV4 RR. Under this model you will also find Accossato's CNC levers, the ESV04A for the clutch and the EDF099, LV012 and RA001 for the brake; each has its own listing and its own years, so check that they match your bike. Before ordering this replacement, compare its outline with the lever it is meant to replace.

Road Approval

As no ABE or other test document is available to us for the AGS01, it is listed for circuit use and competition.
