DescriptionThe whole story▼

An empty car park on a Sunday morning is where riders get better. Figure of eights, slow turns between two painted bays, a full lock circle in each direction: all of it is done with a trickle of throttle, a little clutch and a foot resting on the rear pedal, and a BMW G650GS with its low seat is one of the kindest machines to practise on. Accossato's Organic (OR) filling in the AGPP91 rear pad is drawn for that gentle, constant kind of work, and the listing covers the G650GS from 2009 to 2015.

Key Features

  • Organic (OR) rear pads for the BMW G650GS, article number AGPP91OR
  • Model years 2009 to 2015, rear wheel
  • Accossato claims a long period of service and gentle treatment of the disc
  • Matched to light, continuous pressure at walking speed
  • Two pads in the box, which is the single rear caliper's fill
  • The Sintered (ST) material shares this outline for all-weather riders
  • Front wheel of this bike: the AGPA92 pad, catalogued 2009 to 2015
  • No German ABE on record; sold for competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Choosing the organic material is a decision about how often you want to think about the back of the bike. The two properties its maker names, a long period of use and a friction ring that is worn away slowly, add up to a rear end that can be left alone for a long stretch of ownership. That suits a machine of this age, where a rear disc would cost a meaningful share of what the bike is now worth and where the pedal is rarely worked hard enough to justify anything more aggressive. The pads arrive in pairs, a box for each caliper, and the rear wheel here has one.

An Empty Car Park on a Sunday Morning

Slow-speed control is the most useful thing a rider can practise and the least often practised. The method is always the same: hold a steady drive from the engine, keep the clutch at the point where it is just biting, and regulate the speed with the rear brake instead of the throttle. That combination holds the G650GS stable at a pace where it would otherwise fall into the turn, and it is what makes a U-turn on a narrow road, a gravel campsite or a ferry deck an ordinary event rather than an ordeal.

Practice of this kind never gets the pads hot, but it keeps them in contact with the disc for long periods, which is precisely the condition a mild material is intended for. Two things are worth doing afterwards. Look at the rear caliper when you wash the bike, since a piston that has stopped moving cleanly will hold one pad against the disc permanently. And keep anything oily away from the rear disc face, chain lubricant above all, because it reaches that disc more easily than owners expect and will spoil a pedal in a single application.

Fitment and Compatibility

The AGPP91 is catalogued for the rear wheel of the BMW G650GS across model years 2009 to 2015, the same span the front pad of this bike covers. One caliper works that wheel, so one box is the whole job, and both pads belong in it together. The front is served by the AGPA92 pad. Accossato does not offer a brake disc for the G650GS, so the original disc stays in place, which is another argument for a material that treats it gently.

Road Approval

Nothing documenting an approval for the AGPP91OR, a German ABE included, has been supplied to us. We offer the pad for competition and closed-course riding.

Scope of Delivery
