DescriptionThe whole story▼
Kawasaki first used the Eliminator name in the 1980s, on a cruiser styled after drag-strip machines, and brought it back for a low, relaxed bike powered by the parallel twin it shares with the Ninja 500. The drag-racing link has not quite disappeared: test-and-tune evenings at drag strips are open to ordinary bikes, and cruisers are no rarity in the queue. For the Eliminator 500 of 2024, Accossato lists the FC126, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium, with a pin in the colour you prefer on its quick-closing pawl.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Kawasaki Eliminator 500, 2024
- Whole body CNC-machined from aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing quickly
- Pin in blue, red, gold, silver, black or green
- Pawl can be replaced on its own
- New design; robust and durable according to Accossato
- No German ABE documented; for closed courses
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato cuts the FC126 out of aluminium on CNC machines, body and all, and promises a cap that is robust and will last; the design, too, is new. On a cruiser like the Eliminator the filler sits right in the rider's line of sight, so its looks count, and the quick-closing pawl turns opening and shutting the tank into a short job. Colour comes from the pin on that pawl. Should the pawl ever be damaged, Accossato sells it on its own, and the rest of the cap stays in use.
A Name from the Drag Strip
Drag strips hold open evenings where riders can sign on, pass a quick inspection and make timed runs over a short straight, and for an Eliminator 500 owner that is a chance to connect the bike with the history of its name. The evening follows a pattern: a queue in the staging lanes, a run of a few seconds, the return road, a look at the time slip and back into the queue. Fuel has its place in that pattern, and it is never in the lanes. If the bike needs a top-up, go back to the pits, switch off and let the engine cool before you open the tank. Close the FC126 carefully and wipe the tank afterwards, because spilled fuel anywhere near the rear tyre is the last thing a drag strip wants. Officials are strict about anything that drips, since fluid on the racing surface can stop the whole evening while it is cleaned up. Clean, unhurried refuelling keeps you in the queue.
Fitment and Compatibility
The FC126 is listed by Accossato for the Eliminator 500 of 2024. The SE appears on the list as a separate entry and has its own product with us, and the Ninja 500 and the Ninja 400 are among the other Kawasakis that share this cap in our shop. Please confirm your bike on Accossato's list before you order.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented, so the FC126 is a part for closed courses such as circuits and drag strips. On the road, the Eliminator 500 keeps its factory cap, which normally locks with the ignition key.
