The EDB012 is shaped by CNC machining from a single piece of aluminium and then anodised, which gives it a hard outer layer that is part of the metal rather than a coating on it. Black covers the pivot end and its reach adjustment, while the blade is anodised in the colour you select. Riders tend to respond by pulling harder and earlier, often with the whole hand, and that is where the long blade earns its place: the extra length lets the fingers work further from the pivot, so the same effort produces more force at the master cylinder.
