DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Moto Guzzi MGX-21, nicknamed the Flying Fortress, is a dark, heavy bagger with a big front wheel and a carbon-trimmed fairing, and most of its life is spent cruising boulevards and main roads. Accossato's AGPA96 front pad in the Organic (OR) compound is aimed at owners who use it that way. The organic mixture brakes smoothly at low speed, stays quiet on the stop-and-go stretches of a city run and is gentle on the discs. Accossato lists it for the MGX-21 1400 Flying Fortress from 2015 to 2017.

Key Features

  • Organic (OR) front pads for the Moto Guzzi MGX-21
  • Listed for the MGX-21 1400 Flying Fortress, 2015 to 2017
  • Long performance and restrained disc wear, in Accossato's words
  • Calm, progressive response for cruising
  • Quiet on urban boulevards
  • Two pads per box, one caliper
  • No German ABE; sold for competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Organic is the compound Accossato recommends when longevity and disc care matter more than a fierce initial bite. The company says it gives long-lasting performance and reduces wear on the brake disc. On a heavy cruiser that is ridden at a relaxed pace, the front brake is applied smoothly and often while cool, so a pad that responds predictably without heat is well matched. Accossato also stresses that its pads generally stop hard, wear slowly and limit fade by keeping temperatures in check.

Boulevard Cruising

The MGX-21 is at its most comfortable rolling through town at a leisurely pace, stereo on, stopping for lights and slowing for traffic. Front brake use is frequent but gentle. An organic pad keeps these small stops smooth and quiet, and it looks after the discs, which on a bike like this are a visible part of the design.

Accossato also produces this plate in Sintered (ST), EV1, EV2 and ZXC versions, which suit wet riding and sportier use. For relaxed cruising, OR is the natural choice. At each pad change, clean the pistons, check the discs and pump the lever before setting off.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA96 for the MGX-21 1400 Flying Fortress from 2015 to 2017. That is a shorter span than the rear pad, AGPA92, which the catalogue covers from 2015 to 2021. The MGX-21 has two front calipers, so a complete front change calls for two boxes. Change both sides of the front axle together and bed the new pads in with a series of steady stops.

Road Approval

We have no German ABE or test mark for this front pad, so it is offered for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

One box of two Accossato AGPA96 pads in the Organic (OR) compound, suitable for one front caliper.
