The flow the T12 sets aside is not flow the engine is reaching for there: the restriction is present, but it lands in reserve. On the second half it inverts — dry piste, gravel and other people's dust, where the suspended fine fraction is what actually gets drawn in and 7 microns of retention is worth having. The trade is stated in the figures: 80 microns at 5,050 l\/m²\/sec for the P08, 14 microns at 1,800 for the P14, 7 microns at 560 for the T12. Finer means more retained and less passed, every time. If your riding is mostly asphalt with motorway stages, the P08 is the better-balanced element and there is nothing to apologise for in choosing it; the P14 sits in between for dusty touring.
