The same homologated system, with the silencer in dark. Spark charges nothing extra for it — the dark-style Moto GP costs exactly what the titanium one does, which makes this purely a decision about how the motorcycle should look.
Key Features
- Homologated full system for the Triumph Trident 660, Tiger Sport 660 and Daytona 660.
- Moto GP silencer in dark style.
- AISI 304 stainless collector and pre-silencer box.
- Racing catalytic converter with high noble-metal loading.
- Certificate from the Italian Ministry of Transport.
- Same list price as the titanium version.
Two Finishes, No Price Difference
Spark lists GTR8818TOM in titanium and this one in dark style at an identical price. That is unusual and it removes the usual temptation to read a price gap as a quality gap.
What differs is how the silencer behaves over time. Titanium takes on heat colour at the front of the case within the first few thousand kilometres — a straw-to-blue gradient that some owners buy the material for. The dark finish does not develop it. If you want the exhaust to look on day one thousand exactly as it did on day one, this is the version.
Dark on a Trident
The Trident's appeal is a clean, uncluttered line, and the standard silencer is deliberately unobtrusive. A bright titanium case changes that balance; a dark one keeps it.
On a Tiger Sport, where luggage and bodywork already fill the rear three-quarter view, the dark silencer disappears into the shadow under the tail. On a Daytona 660 in a light colour it becomes a deliberate contrast. Neither is more correct — but it is worth looking at the motorcycle before choosing.
What Makes It Legal
The homologation comes from two components ahead of the silencer. A racing catalytic converter heavily soaked with noble metals converts efficiently without acting as a restriction, and a pre-silencer box in AISI 304 takes the sharpness out of the pressure pulse.
Spark holds a certificate from the Italian Ministry of Transport for this system and publishes the homologation numbers it covers, so that owners can match them against their vehicle documents before ordering.
The Silencer Under the Finish
Whatever colour it wears, the Moto GP is Spark's shortest case: round, compact, with a large outlet diameter chosen to emphasise the engine note rather than to absorb it.
On a 660 triple that shape does something a longer silencer cannot. The three-cylinder firing order produces a sound with a lot of character and very little bulk, and a short case with a wide exit lets more of it through unfiltered. What keeps the whole system legal is the catalysed box ahead of it, not the silencer.
Fitment & Compatibility
Triumph Trident 660, Tiger Sport 660 and Daytona 660, 2021 through 2026. The titanium version is GTR8818TOM and the black ceramic GTR8818BOM. With the 60's silencer the system is GTR8819IOM; with the Grid-O, GTR8820TOM. For the 2025 machines the equivalent is GTR8831DOM.
Road Approval
Homologated, with a certificate from the Italian Ministry of Transport.
