DescriptionThe whole story▼

A CBR500R ridden through the whole year, often with luggage and sometimes with a passenger, needs a rear brake that behaves the same in the wet as in the dry. Accossato lists the AGPP185 for the rear caliper of the 2013 to 2026 bike, and the Sintered (ST) version is the one meant for all-weather use, cold mornings and touring with a load.

Key Features

  • Rear pads for the Honda CBR500R of 2013 to 2026
  • Article AGPP185ST in Sintered (ST) mixture
  • Accossato claims constant grip across temperatures and good wet performance
  • For year-round use, touring and riding two-up
  • Single rear caliper: one box covers it
  • Also sold in Organic (OR) on the same plate
  • Predictable pedal after rain and spray
  • No German ABE in our records; for competition

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes the ST material as offering a high and constant grip level at low and high temperatures and working well when wet. At the back of the CBR500R, where the disc catches spray from the rear tyre, that consistency keeps the pedal predictable. The AGPP185 plate is the same as on the organic version, so the difference lies only in the friction material.

All-Weather Stability

On a loaded bike in the rain, a steady rear brake helps settle the chassis before a corner and adds control on slippery roads. A sintered pad keeps its bite when wet and handles the dirt thrown up in winter, which suits the owner who does not put the CBR500R away when the weather turns.

When changing pads, clean the piston and the caliper, check the disc for rust and wear, and look at the rear fluid. Keep chain lube away from the disc and press the pedal several times until it firms up. Bed in the new set with a few gentle stops before carrying a passenger. After a winter of salted roads it is also worth checking that the pads still slide freely in the caliper, because corrosion on the guides can hold them against the disc and make them wear unevenly.

Fitment and Compatibility

The AGPP185 is Accossato's rear pad for the Honda CBR500R, listed as CBR 500 R from 2013 to 2026. The rear has one caliper. For the front the catalogue lists the AGPA81 from 2013 to 2021, and the DK230 disc is also available for the model.

Road Approval

We have not received an ABE or German inspection document for the AGPP185ST. It is sold for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

The box holds two AGPP185 pads in Sintered (ST) mixture for the CBR500R's single rear caliper.
