DescriptionThe whole story▼

The F3 800 took MV Agusta's compact three-cylinder supersport and gave it a larger engine, and plenty of owners ride it on the road first and on a circuit second. Road riding brings its own test for the brakes: surfaces that are rarely as smooth as a race track. The Accossato EDF035 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the F3 800, listed from 2014 to 2020, with adjustable reach and three blade lengths. Because Accossato names a different brake lever for the later F3 800, it is worth checking your bike's model year before ordering.

Key Features

  • Brake lever for the MV Agusta F3 800 of 2014 to 2020
  • Mounts on the original master cylinder
  • Reach adjustable
  • Standard (approximately 138 mm), short and long blades
  • Seven blade colours; black and red in standard length only
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised, black hub
  • Rigid lever with no folding mechanism

Construction and Material Quality

On a sports bike ridden over rough roads, a lever takes vibration and knocks as well as squeezes. The EDF035 is machined from aluminium under CNC control, which gives it a solid, even section without the weak spots a casting can hide, and then anodised: the hub black, the blade in the colour you choose. The hub holds the pivot and the adjuster. With no hinge anywhere in the blade, there is nothing to rattle when the road gets rough.

Bumps in the Braking Zone

On a smooth circuit, the front tyre is pressed into the tarmac with an even force as you brake. On a country road, bumps make that force rise and fall, and for a moment an unloaded tyre has less grip to give. Riders deal with this by braking a little earlier and more gently on broken surfaces, holding a steady pressure instead of squeezing to the limit, and keeping their arms relaxed so the bars can move with the front wheel. Stiff arms turn every bump into an unintended change of lever pressure. This is where a well-placed lever helps: when your fingers rest on the blade in a natural curve, the hand can hold an even pressure while the bike moves beneath it. Set the reach of the EDF035 with that in mind, wearing your road gloves and sitting as you ride. On the F3 800, the standard blade suits most road riders; the long blade, made in blue, gold, green and orange, adds leverage so that a steady squeeze takes less effort.

Two Brake Levers in the F3 800's History

Accossato divides the F3 800 by year. The EDF035 covers the bikes of 2014 to 2020, while for the versions of 2023 to 2025 the listed brake lever is the EDF099. Neither is named for 2021 and 2022. If your bike's year sits close to one of those boundaries, compare the original lever with our product photos before you order.

Fitment and Compatibility

The EDF035 is listed for the F3 800 from 2014 to 2020 and fits the bike's original master cylinder. For the clutch, the ESM048 is listed across a long span, from 2013 to 2025, so a matching pair is possible on every F3 800 that this brake lever covers.

Road Approval

No German ABE is documented for the EDF035; we therefore sell it for use on circuits.
