DescriptionThe whole story▼
The VFR name has stood for Honda's V4 sports tourers since the VFR750F of 1986, and the VFR800F of 2014 carries the line forward with a V4 engine, a single-sided swingarm and the manners of a bike made for long, brisk rides. VFR owners often have a long history with the model and an eye for well-made details. The EDF018 from Accossato is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the VFR800F, listed from 2014 to 2019, with an adjustable reach and a choice of seven colours.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Honda VFR800F, 2014 to 2019
- Mounts on the stock master cylinder
- Adjustable reach to the grip
- Silver, black and red among the seven blade colours
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm; short and long in selected colours
- Machined aluminium, anodised
- Black hub, rigid blade without a joint
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the EDF018 from solid aluminium and anodises it. The hub is black and contains the pivot and the reach adjuster; the blade is finished in the colour you choose. Machining gives crisp edges and an even section, and anodising builds the colour into the aluminium surface rather than laying it on top. The blade is fixed, one piece without a hinge. Accossato itself goes back to 1969, when it was founded in Moncalieri, near Turin, as a maker of competition motorcycles.
A Line That Began in 1986
Long-lived model lines attract a particular kind of owner. Many riders of today's VFR800F had an earlier VFR before it, and they value what the line has always stood for: a smooth V4, a comfortable but sporting position, and controls that work precisely. A replacement brake lever should fit into that picture rather than stand out from it. Silver or black blades suit the understated character of the bike, and a red blade can echo the red paint that has run through VFR history, if your bike wears it. The set-up matters just as much. A sports tourer is ridden at speed on open roads, often with luggage, and the front brake is used in firm, progressive applications from high speed. Set the EDF018 so the blade meets your fingers at the first joint, where they can build pressure smoothly. The standard blade is the natural choice for this kind of riding, while the long one helps with thick touring gloves.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF018 for the VFR800F from 2014 to 2019. It replaces the original brake lever on Honda's master cylinder. For the clutch side of the same bikes, the ESV000 is listed for 2014 to 2019, with the same hub and colour range, so a matching pair is possible on the VFR800F.
Road Approval
A documented German ABE is not available for this lever, so we offer it for the track.
