Öhlins publishes sag targets, and those are the reference for choosing a rate.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 21848-12

Where It Sits

Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. Free length and inner diameter decide fit; the rate decides behaviour. Springs are a service part: they age, they settle, and replacing them restores the geometry. Progressive springs change rate through the stroke and suit short-travel machines.

Genuine Service Part

Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Suspension is one of the few areas where the original part is genuinely the cheaper decision. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise.

How to Be Sure It Fits

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 21848-12. Where no measurement is given, the drawing position is what identifies the part. A settled spring lowers the machine and steepens the steering without anyone changing a setting. Free length and inner diameter decide fit; the rate decides behaviour.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21848-12

Category: Springs

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21848-12_6caa222a-6a92-4c67-ad1f-4eceb3738acb.png?v=1788877901
