DescriptionThe whole story▼
Riding the MV Agusta F3 day after day demands suspension that works with you, not against you. The K-Tech 25IDS Open Cartridge Kit transforms the standard fork into a fully tuneable platform, delivering a plush, fatigue-free ride on the road while retaining every ounce of precision when the pace rises — all through a system engineered specifically for the F3 675 and F3 800.
Key Features
- 25 mm Independent Damping System (25IDS) designed as a direct-fit upgrade for the original F3 fork — no fabrication required
- 30 clicks of independent compression adjustment let you dial in precise control over how the fork absorbs bumps and braking loads
- 30 clicks of independent rebound adjustment ensure the fork recovers at exactly the rate you need, reducing arm-pump and improving stability on long rides
- Fine-tunable spring preload setting and an increased stroke versus the stock cartridge for a more supple, compliant feel over rough surfaces
- Aerospace-grade aluminium construction with hard-anodised and super-finished components for exceptional durability and consistent damping performance over thousands of kilometres
- Wide range of compatible 36-260 series springs available separately, allowing setup to be matched precisely to rider weight and riding style
Precision Engineering for All-Day Comfort
The 25IDS design separates compression and rebound circuits entirely, which means adjusting one characteristic never compromises the other. On a long touring or commuting day aboard the F3, this independence is what makes the difference between a fork that feels alive and one that simply reacts. Set the compression softly enough to absorb road imperfections without fatigue, then tune the rebound to prevent the front from wallowing — a balance that fixed-circuit cartridges simply cannot achieve.
The hard-anodised, super-finished internals minimise stiction throughout the stroke, so the fork responds to small inputs rather than waiting for a larger force to overcome static friction. The result is a more communicative front end that keeps you connected to the road surface regardless of pace.
Track Capability Without Compromise
Should you want to push the F3 harder, the same 30-click adjustment range that provides comfort on the road also covers the firmer settings demanded on circuit. With the suggested starting points of 14 compression clicks, 18 rebound clicks, and 8 mm of preload, there is a verified baseline to build from — a useful starting point whether you are heading to a track day or dialling in for a specific road route.
The increased stroke over the original cartridge also improves suspension travel utilisation, keeping the tyre in contact with the surface longer through mid-corner bumps and reducing the risk of a harsh bottom-out under heavy braking.
Fitment and Compatibility
The K-Tech 25IDS Open Cartridge Kit part number 130-012-170-010 is engineered specifically for the following motorcycles:
- MV Agusta F3 675 — model years 2012 to 2026
- MV Agusta F3 800 — model years 2012 to 2026
Installation by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre is recommended to ensure correct assembly and initial setup. Compatible springs from the 36-260 series must be ordered separately.
