An Aftermarket Still Forming
Being new means the parts catalogue is thin, and the components that do exist are worth fitting properly rather than improvising around.
Modern Electronics as Standard
A six-axis platform, riding modes and cornering ABS, all of which Triumph now fits across the range rather than reserving for the expensive models.
Not the Electrical Half
The controller monitors its solenoid regardless of what is bolted to the head, so the circuit still needs its own eliminator.
What Leaves the Engine
The housing, its reeds, the hose to the airbox and the clips holding it. The top of the engine ends up visibly less cluttered.
Refit for a Test
Where periodic inspection covers the equipment, the standard housing goes back on in twenty minutes with nothing needing replacement.
What a Cracked Reed Does
It stops sealing in one direction, which lets exhaust gas travel back up the hose towards the airbox. The residue coats the filter and the inside of the box, and it is usually discovered by somebody looking for something else entirely.
Torque Into Aluminium
The fasteners thread into the cylinder head, and Triumph specifies a figure for good reason. Guessing at it is the commonest way a straightforward twenty-minute job turns into a thread repair and a considerably longer afternoon.
Not the Electrical Fault
The dashboard warning comes from the solenoid circuit and nothing else. Fitting the cover without addressing that circuit leaves the lamp exactly where it was, which surprises a fair number of people.
Not an Engine Job
Nothing is opened, nothing is drained and nothing internal is disturbed. It is an external component on an external face.
