Carbon Frame, Carbon Wheels
BMW built seven hundred and fifty of them with a full carbon chassis and a race-kit engine. It is the most extreme motorcycle the factory has ever sold to the public.
Why the Factory Map Is Cautious
A manufacturer maps one motorcycle for every market, every fuel quality and every altitude it will ever be sold into, then adds a margin for emissions testing. That margin is not a mistake. It is simply not tuned for one bike, one climate and one exhaust system.
The Modest Claim
Improve throttle response and smoothness without remapping. That is what the manufacturer says and it is what the product does. There is no third page of promises and there does not need to be.
Not a Rider Aid
Traction control, wheelie control and engine braking strategy are all decided upstream by the standard controller and are unaffected. The module is invisible to them.
Rider Aids Are Blind to It
Traction control reads wheel speeds, not injector pulses. Nothing about the module's presence enters the calculation for any electronic aid on the motorcycle.
No Procedure Afterwards
Nothing to pair, calibrate or reset. The engine is started and the correction is already in place, which is unusual enough among electronic parts to be worth stating.
Heat
Under a seat is warmer than most owners assume once an engine has been working. The module is built for it, but pressing it against a subframe rail that carries exhaust heat is still worth avoiding.
Not a Cure for Age
An engine with worn valve guides or low compression runs badly for mechanical reasons. Adding fuel masks a symptom and delays a repair that will only get more expensive.
