DescriptionThe whole story▼
Anyone who converts a Yamaha YZF-R25 into a track bike for club events needs a front brake built for that job. For its front caliper from 2015 to 2020, Accossato offers the AGPA243 in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, which the company calls a ceramic compound ideal for racing. This is the version for riders who spend their weekends in the paddock, tuning the bike from session to session and braking as late as they dare.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Yamaha YZF-R25, 2015 to 2020
- AGPA243 shape with the ZXC ceramic racing compound, code AGPA243ZXC
- Ceramic compound for racing, according to Accossato
- For repeated hard stops across a race weekend
- Two pads in the box for one caliper
- OR, ST and EV1 versions are also listed
- No German ABE held; for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The ZXC is Accossato's ceramic material for competition. The manufacturer's statement is brief, calling it a ceramic compound ideal for racing, and in the AGPA243 it serves the track-going R25. The goal is strong braking over session after session with limited fade, and a long service life. Accossato has been making motorcycle components since 1969. The box holds two pads, the set for one caliper.
Setting Up Over a Weekend
Race weekends follow a rhythm: free practice, adjustments, qualifying, races. In the pit box, teams work on gearing, suspension and tyre pressures, and the brakes are part of that process too. Riders learn how the front pads behave as they heat up during a session and adjust their braking points accordingly. A racing compound gives a clear, repeatable response at race pace, which makes those adjustments easier.
Pit Lane Checks
Between sessions, check pad thickness, look at the disc for cracks or blueing, and make sure the fluid is fresh and at the right level. After any pad change, pump the lever until it is firm before rolling out, and bed in new pads during an out lap.
Fitment and Compatibility
In the application data this pad belongs to the 2015 to 2020 Yamaha YZF-R25, entered by Accossato under the name YZF 250 R25. As long as the original calipers stay on the bike, that fitment holds; if you have swapped calipers, compare the old pads first. Each box equips one caliper. Matching rear pads for the R25 are the AGPP254, while no Accossato rotors are catalogued for this bike.
Road Approval
We hold no German ABE or approval paperwork for this pad. It is sold for racing and track use only.
Scope of Delivery
Two ZXC front pads in one box, one set for a single caliper of the YZF-R25.
