DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some teams running the 2005 to 2018 Honda CBR 600 RR want a choice of racing compound, and Accossato provides one with the ZXC ceramic racing version of its AGPA108 front pad. It is a ceramic material the company recommends for racing, and it gives a crew another option when tuning how the bike stops over a weekend. The article is aimed squarely at riders whose CBR 600 RR lives in a van between events and whose brakes are adjusted as carefully as the suspension.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Honda CBR 600 RR, years 2005 to 2018
- Article AGPA108ZXC in ZXC ceramic racing mixture
- Accossato presents it as a ceramic compound for racing
- For teams that fine-tune brake feel across a race weekend
- Standard and ABS versions of the period are listed
- The front carries two calipers; two boxes complete the set
- Other versions of the plate: OR, ST, EV1 and EV2
- No German ABE in our hands; for competition only
Construction and Material Quality
ZXC is the ceramic material in Accossato's racing range, and the company describes it as ideal for circuit work. On the AGPA108 plate it gives a CBR 600 RR team a second racing option alongside EV2, and the choice between them often comes down to how a rider likes the lever to build up and release. Accossato also points to reduced wear with its racing compounds. The plate is identical across all versions of the article, so switching compounds between events is quick.
Tuning the Stop Between Sessions
In the paddock, brake feel is discussed as much as tyre pressures. A rider may want a slightly different initial bite for a circuit with slow hairpins than for one with fast sweepers, and a ceramic racing compound gives the crew something to compare. Changing pads between sessions is routine work in the pit box, and it pays to do it methodically: one caliper at a time, pistons cleaned, pads seated and the lever pumped before the bike leaves the stand.
Log which compound ran in which session and how much material it lost. After fitting a new set, give the rider a couple of laps to bed it in before pushing, and keep the discs free of residue from cleaning sprays.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA108 for the Honda CBR 600 RR of 2005 to 2018, in the non-ABS version of 2005 to 2017 and the ABS model of 2009 to 2018. With two front calipers the bike needs two boxes. For 2018 to 2026 the front article changes to the AGPA250, and at the rear the AGPP39 is listed from 2007 to 2026.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or German test document for the AGPA108ZXC in our files. The pads are intended for racing and competition.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA108 pads in ZXC ceramic racing mixture for one caliper. The CBR 600 RR needs two boxes for both front calipers.
