DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Panigale V4 R that is run properly is looked over more often than it is ridden. Between outings the wheels come out, the tyres are read like a page of text, the settings are written down and somebody shines a light into the front calipers. Accossato's ZXC ceramic racing material belongs in that environment: pressed onto the AGPA106 front pad it becomes article AGPA106ZXC, listed for the R from 2019 to 2024, and the company introduces it as a ceramic compound meant for racing.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Ducati Panigale V4 R, model years 2019 to 2024
- Article AGPA106ZXC: the AGPA106 pad with the ceramic racing material
- Named by Accossato as a ceramic compound for competition
- Aimed at bikes that are inspected between outings rather than between services
- Two front calipers, two boxes for a complete change
- One box holds two pads
- ST, EV1 and EV2 fit the same carrier
- No German ABE on record; supplied for competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's description of the ZXC ceramic racing material is a single clause, and there is no point inflating it: ceramic, for racing. Everything around it is standardised. The AGPA106 carrier is the one every suffix in the family sits on, the outline is unchanged, and a set goes into the front caliper of a Panigale V4 R exactly as the last one came out. What varies between compounds is the friction layer and the way it is used up, and on a bike that is inspected constantly the rate at which a set disappears becomes a number the crew actually knows.
Looked at After Every Outing
The value of a routine inspection is not that it finds disasters. It is that it turns a guess into a record. A rider who looks at the pads after every outing knows what a twenty-minute session costs on this circuit in this weather, which caliper is slightly hungrier, and how much of the friction layer is left before the last run of the day. That knowledge is worth more than any number printed in a catalogue, because it describes this bike, this brake and this rider.
Build the rest of the checks around it. Give the disc faces a look in the same minute, since the surface they present decides how the next set behaves. Renew both sides of the front of the Panigale V4 R at once so the wheel is never running two histories, and bed a fresh set in during a session where nobody is trying anything. Before the bike leaves the garage, bring the lever back to a firm stop.
Fitment and Compatibility
Important: this pad fits the Panigale V4 R up to the 2024 model only. From 2025 the bike uses a different front caliper and needs a different pad. The AGPA106 is Accossato's front pad for the Panigale V4 R from 2019 to 2024, the 998 version listed alongside it. Two calipers share the front wheel, so one box covers half of it. At the rear the AGPA42 is catalogued for this machine from 2019 to 2024, and the DKS036 appears in the disc range. The standard V4 and the V2 are listed separately.
Road Approval
Our files hold neither an ABE nor a German test certificate for this article, which is why it is offered for racing and closed circuits only.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA106 pads in the ZXC ceramic racing material, packed as one caliper's set. Two boxes cover the front wheel of a Panigale V4 R.
