DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Yamaha YZ450F ridden through a wet spring and a dusty summer puts its rear brake through big swings in temperature and moisture. Accossato's AGPP106 rear pad in the Sintered (ST) compound fits the YZ450F from 2003 to 2022 and is meant to smooth out those swings. Accossato describes the material as holding a high, constant grip whether cold or hot and gripping well in the wet, which suits riders who race and train through the whole calendar.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the Yamaha YZ450F, 2003 to 2022
- AGPP106 outline in the Sintered (ST) compound, reference AGPP106ST
- Constant grip across low and high temperatures, according to Accossato
- Good wet-weather performance
- Two pads in the box for the rear caliper
- OR and STMX fillings also catalogued
- No German ABE held; for competition and closed courses
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's sintered material gives the AGPP106 a friction level that the company describes as high and steady from cold to hot, with reliable grip in the rain. On the rear of a heavy four-stroke motocross bike, which is often dragged through long corners and down steep sections, that stability helps the rider meter the pedal. The pads are also built for long life and fade resistance. Each box contains two pads for one caliper.
Rear Brake Through the Seasons
On a cold, wet track the rear disc of a YZ450F rarely warms up, and on a hot day it can get very hot on long downhills. A sintered pad keeps the pedal feeling similar in both extremes, which is what all-season riders look for. It lets them use the rear brake as a precise tool for steering and settling the bike rather than something to be tested each lap. For gentle practice, the OR version is available; for the muddiest events, the STMX.
Checking the Rear Caliper
Rocks and roost damage rear discs, so check for bends and grooves when changing pads. Clean the pistons, check the fluid and pump the pedal until firm after fitting. A short bedding-in session with steady stops completes the job.
Fitment and Compatibility
One rear pad shape serves two decades of the big Yamaha: our data places the AGPP106 on every YZ450F made between 2003 and 2022. Front pads are split by generation, so a 2008 to 2019 bike needs the AGPA110 while a 2020 to 2022 machine needs the AGPA288. Rotors for the model come from Accossato as DK111, DK168, DK268 or DK269.
Road Approval
As we hold no German ABE or approval evidence for this pad, it is sold for racing and closed-course riding.
