DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Yamaha MT-09 set up for touring, with luggage and a passenger, relies on its rear brake more than a solo bike does. Accossato's AGPP88ST is the sintered rear pad for the MT-09 from 2014 to 2026. It is chosen for consistent performance in all temperatures and in wet weather, and it suits riders who tour two-up, commute through the winter or regularly ride in changeable conditions.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the Yamaha MT-09 across 2014 to 2026
- Article AGPP88ST in the Sintered (ST) compound
- Accossato: high, steady grip from cold to hot and in the wet
- For touring, two-up riding and all-weather use
- Two pads in each box, the set for the rear caliper
- Rear shape also available as OR; the front pad is AGPA97
- Accossato designs its pads for slow wear and less fade
- Sold for circuit and competition use; no German ABE available
Construction and Material Quality
This AGPP88 rear pad uses Accossato's sintered compound. The company describes high and stable grip across temperatures and good behaviour on a wet disc. For a rear brake that must work reliably with a loaded bike or in rain, that consistency matters. Like all Accossato pads, it is designed to wear slowly and resist fade.
Two Up Across the Seasons
When an MT-09 carries a passenger, more weight shifts to the rear wheel, giving the rear brake more grip to work with. Using it deliberately, especially on descents and wet roads, helps keep the bike stable. A sintered rear pad gives a consistent pedal feel whatever the weather. Winter riding brings extra wear from salt and grit, so inspect the pads more often and clean the caliper after messy rides. Before a long tour, check there is enough material for the whole trip, and pack the tool needed to open the caliper. On the road, a light press on the pedal before a hairpin settles the rear of a heavily laden triple and takes some load off the front tyre.
Fitment and Compatibility
The rear caliper of every MT-09 from the 2014 season up to 2026 takes this AGPP88 shape in Accossato's catalogue, while the front of the triple is served by the AGPA97. There is only one rear caliper, so one box does the job. Work cleanly: brush the dirt from around the piston before easing it back, measure what is left of the disc, and replace fluid that has turned dark. If the disc is worn, Accossato also has the DK077 and DKS073 on its list for this Yamaha. Finish by working the pedal until it stays high and firm, then give the fresh pads a few calm stops before loading them up.
Road Approval
We hold no German ABE or approval documents for the AGPP88ST, so the pad is offered for track and competition purposes.
Scope of Delivery
One box with two Accossato AGPP88 pads in Sintered (ST) compound, for the MT-09's single rear caliper.
