DescriptionThe whole story▼
A scrambler invites you to leave the tarmac now and then, and the Honda SCL500 does that happily on a dry gravel lane. More often, though, its owners meet a different challenge: wet autumn roads covered in leaves, cold mornings and sudden showers. Accossato's AGPA81 fits the front brake of the SCL500 from 2023 to 2026, and this listing is the Sintered (ST) version, meant for riders who keep using their scrambler as the seasons turn.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Honda SCL500, 2023 to 2026
- Article AGPA81ST: AGPA81 shape in Sintered compound
- Accossato promises high grip that stays constant from cold to hot
- Strong response on a wet disc
- For autumn riding, damp roads and all-season use
- Organic (OR) offered as the alternative
- Box of two pads for one caliper
- No ABE available; offered for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The Sintered compound is aimed at riders who cannot choose their weather. Accossato states that it delivers a high and constant grip level at both low and high temperatures, and that it performs well on a wet disc. The company's general claims for its pads also apply: limited wear, restrained heating that keeps fade low, and high stopping power. The friction face is mounted on the AGPA81 plate, shaped for the SCL500 front caliper.
Autumn Leaves and Wet Lanes
Country lanes in October combine wet tarmac, fallen leaves and patches of mud washed from fields. On the SCL500, a front brake that bites predictably on the first squeeze, even when water has been sitting on the disc, makes those roads less stressful. A sintered pad is selected for this kind of riding, where you want the lever to behave the same way throughout a cold, damp afternoon.
Wet riding brings grime into the caliper, so clean it whenever you wash the bike. Check the pads before winter and replace both sides at once. After fitting a new pair, clean and retract the pistons, pump the lever until the pressure returns and bed them in with moderate stops.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPA81 is listed by Accossato for the front of the Honda SCL500 from 2023 to 2026. At the rear, the SCL500 takes the AGPP185 for the same years. If most of your riding is short, dry city trips, the Organic version of this front pad is the other choice. Each box covers one caliper, so check how many your SCL500 has at the front.
Road Approval
Our files contain no ABE and no German test certificate for this pad, so it is listed for competition and circuit use.
Scope of Delivery
The box holds two AGPA81 pads in the Sintered mixture, one set for a single caliper.
