DescriptionThe whole story▼
A roadster gets ridden differently from a tourer. The R 1300 R is the sort of machine people take out for an hour after work, along a road they know, and put away again before dark. Short outings like that never let the brakes settle into a rhythm, which is precisely why the material on the pads matters. Accossato lists the AGPA125 front pad in its Sintered (ST) compound for the BMW R 1300 R of 2026, a mixture the firm describes as even-tempered whether the discs are cold or hot.
Key Features
- Front brake pads for the BMW R 1300 R, model year 2026
- AGPA125ST: the AGPA125 plate wearing the Sintered (ST) friction mixture
- Accossato names constant grip across temperatures and good behaviour in the wet
- Suited to short, brisk rides as well as longer days in the saddle
- Two pads in a box, which is what one caliper takes
- Check how many calipers your front wheel carries before you order
- Left and right are always renewed together
- No German ABE on record; supplied for competition and track riding
Construction and Material Quality
One plate, several mixtures, and the suffix on the article number tells you which one you are buying. ST is the sintered material in Accossato's catalogue, and the maker sums it up in two claims. Grip arrives at a high level and stays there regardless of what the thermometer says, and rain on the disc does not take it away. For a roadster that spends its life doing short journeys, the first of those claims carries the most weight, because the pads on such a bike are often cold when they are asked to work hardest. A slow rate of wear comes with the material as well, and a front brake that is only ever used in short bursts should last a long time on it.
Five Minutes from Home
The opening stretch of any ride is the one that catches people out. Discs are at whatever temperature the night left them, there may be a damp patch under the trees where the sun has not reached, and the rider is not yet fully switched on either. On an R 1300 R the first junction usually arrives before any of that has changed, and the front brake has to do proper work straight away. This is where a material that has to be warmed through before it works properly feels wooden, and where one that answers straight away earns its keep. A sensible habit on a bike used this way is a gentle test squeeze in the first few hundred yards, somewhere safe and straight, simply to confirm that the lever is where you left it. Beyond that, the usual care applies: keep polish and degreaser away from the discs, look at the pads whenever the front wheel is out, and give a new set a run of light, progressive stops before asking anything serious of them.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA125 for the front of the BMW R 1300 R in the 2026 model year. A box equips one caliper, so count the calipers on your own machine before ordering and buy accordingly; whatever the number, the pads across an axle are replaced in one go so that both sides bite alike. Set the new pads beside the old ones to confirm the shape matches, and take the opportunity to check the disc faces and the brake fluid while the caliper is open.
Road Approval
For the AGPA125ST we hold neither a German ABE nor a test certificate, so nothing here documents it for use on the public road. It is sold for the circuit and for competition.
Scope of Delivery
