DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a Yamaha YZF-R25 used for daily commuting, the rear brake takes care of slow-speed manoeuvres, gentle speed control in traffic and stable stops at junctions. For the 2015 to 2020 bikes, Accossato offers the AGPP254 rear pad in the Organic (OR) compound. It suits riders who want smooth pedal control in town, quiet operation and a material that is kind to the rear disc. Accossato describes it as giving longer performance and limiting disc wear.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the Yamaha YZF-R25, 2015 to 2020
- AGPP254 shape in the Organic (OR) compound, item AGPP254OR
- Lasting performance and reduced disc wear, per Accossato
- Smooth, quiet rear brake for everyday riding
- Two pads per box for the rear caliper
- Also available in the ST compound
- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The AGPP254 in organic form uses Accossato's long-life, disc-friendly material. On the rear of a lightweight road bike, where braking forces are moderate but frequent, this makes sense: the pads wear slowly, and the disc lasts. The material is also designed to limit heat build-up and fading. Two pads come in the box, one set for the caliper.
Low-Speed Control in Traffic
Filtering between cars, U-turns and slow manoeuvres in car parks are where the rear brake really matters. A light, steady pressure on the pedal stabilises the bike, and an organic pad that responds progressively makes that easier. New riders in particular will appreciate how predictable it feels. For year-round riding in rain and cold, the ST version of the AGPP254 is the alternative. Either way, change both rear pads together so they wear evenly against the disc.
Changing Rear Pads
Remove the caliper, clean the pistons and inspect the disc. Push the pistons back gently and check the fluid level. After fitting, pump the pedal several times until firm, and bed in the pads with a few slow stops.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPP254 at the rear of the Yamaha YZF-R25 from 2015 to 2020, the YZF 250 R25 in its catalogue. The front caliper of the same bikes uses the AGPA243. No Accossato discs are listed for this model in our data.
Road Approval
No test documents or German ABE are available for this pad. It is therefore supplied for circuit use and competition.
Scope of Delivery
