DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Panigale V4 R of 2019 exists because racing rules ask for it. Its engine is smaller than the one in the standard V4, its bodywork carries winglets that were developed in competition, and its whole specification points at a machine that will spend its weekends on a circuit with a transponder on the front. Bikes used that way get looked at between sessions, not between services, and the oil is the first thing anyone checks. Accossato's FP004 is the filler cap for it, aluminium, M20x2.5, anodised in eight colours.
Key Features
- Oil filler cap for the Ducati Panigale V4 R of 2019
- M20x2.5 thread, the size Accossato quotes for this part
- Aluminium, CNC-machined, anodised for colour
- Eight colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, titanium, gold
- Also suits other motorcycles with a filler of the same size
- FP007, TS003 and TS012 exist for the same machine
- No German ABE available; listed for racing use
Construction and Material Quality
The recipe is unchanged across Accossato's filler caps and none the worse for it: aluminium, CNC machining, anodising. What varies is the colour, and here there are eight, from the quiet end of titanium, silver and black to red, gold, orange, blue and green. The thread is M20x2.5, and that single figure is what Accossato publishes about the dimensions, because a filler cap either matches the size or it does not. The maker covers the applications on its list and adds that motorcycles with the same filler size elsewhere can use the cap too. On a Panigale V4 R, where much of the machine is already a statement, the choice between disappearing and standing out is a real one.
A Machine Built for the Grid
Paddock routines are different from garage routines: more frequent, shorter, and done with other people waiting. That makes a clean process worth having. Check the oil on the Panigale V4 R when the engine has stood long enough to be cold, which on a busy day may mean doing it first thing in the morning rather than between two sessions, and read the level in the position the owner's manual sets out. Clean around the filler before opening it, because a paddock floor produces dust in quantities a home garage never manages, and all of it is looking for a way inside. Look at the thread and the sealing face before the cap goes back. Add oil in small steps if it is needed, checking as you go, and use the grade the manual names. Turn the FP004 in by hand until it seats, and stop there; tools are for other jobs. After the first laps, glance underneath before you pull away again. A dry engine case is the confirmation, and it takes two seconds to get.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FP004 for the Panigale V4 R in 2019. Beyond that entry, the M20x2.5 thread decides the fit, so machines with the same filler size are served as well, and our catalogue shows the cap for the Monster 1200, the Hyperstrada 821 and the DesertX. If the engine cover on your bike has been changed or already carries a non-standard cap, compare the thread before ordering. Accossato also offers the FP007 clutch cover and the TS003 and TS012 brake reservoir caps for this motorcycle.
Road Approval
Documentation of an ABE or a test mark for the FP004 does not exist in our files, which is why the cap is catalogued strictly for competition.
Scope of Delivery
