DescriptionThe whole story▼
This nickel-plated CY028 keeps the 16 mm piston, the fixed 18 mm pivot and the rigid lever of the natural-finish unit, changing only the body's surface treatment. Accossato plates the same CNC-machined aluminium casting rather than anodising it, which is the only difference from the natural version. The lever stays fixed rather than folding, and both lengths are fitted with a relieving eyelet (RST). This fixed-lever CY028 sits alongside the folding-lever CY027 in Accossato's single-disc range, both built around the same 16 mm piston and 18 mm pivot.
Key Features
- 16 mm piston bore for single-disc front brake systems
- 18 mm lever pivot, fixed, for track and road use
- Rigid, fixed lever in black
- Nickel-plated aluminium body for a brighter finish
- CNC machining and manufacture in Italy
- Offset riser that reduces body flex under hard braking
- Stainless mounting hardware and a zinc-plated bleed valve
- Formula 1 compound seals
Construction and Material Quality
The CY028 body is machined from aluminium and then nickel-plated instead of anodised, giving it a brighter surface while the mechanical specification underneath stays the same as the natural version: stainless screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals. An offset riser in the clamp resists flex under hard braking, and the bore is shaped to cut the lever's passive travel by more than 50 per cent against an ordinary radial unit.
Fixed Lever, Both Lengths Alike
With no folding joint in the lever, this nickel-plated CY028 gives a direct connection from lever to piston, and because both lever lengths carry the relieving eyelet (RST), long and short versions differ only in how far the lever sits from the grip, not in how the lever itself is built. As with the natural-finish CY028, the fixed 18 mm pivot and the single-disc 16 mm piston are unchanged from the rigid-lever specification.
Fitment and Compatibility
The same 54 motorcycles confirmed for the natural CY028 fit this nickel-plated version, among them the BMW G310GS, Kawasaki ER-6N, Suzuki SV650X, Honda NT1100 and BMW F900XR; see the Fitment tab for the complete list. The natural anodised CY028 remains available as a separate product. Because the lever here is rigid rather than folding, expect a firmer, more direct connection at the bar than on a folding-lever Accossato unit. Workshops already stocking spares for the natural-finish CY028 can use the same stainless screws, bleed valve and seals when servicing this plated version.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Supplied is the Accossato 16x18 radial brake master cylinder with the rigid fixed lever in black, long or short, both with a relieving eyelet (RST), in the nickel-plated body finish. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinc-plated bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals come assembled on the unit. The brake light switch (ID001 or ID002) and the fluid reservoir are not included.
