DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Honda CBR650F turns up in club racing and track schools more often than its road-bike image suggests, because its four-cylinder engine is forgiving and cheap to run. For owners who prepare one for a race weekend, Accossato offers the AGPA72 front pad in the EV2 racing compound. This is a lining for timed sessions and qualifying laps, where the brake is used at full force lap after lap. The listing covers the CBR650F from 2014 to 2018.
Key Features
- Racing front pads for the Honda CBR650F, 2014 to 2018
- Accossato AGPA72 in the EV2 racing compound, article AGPA72EV2
- Listed for the CBR 650 F without the ABS suffix
- Designed for repeated maximum stops in timed sessions
- Two pads in each box, one caliper set
- The CBR650F uses two front calipers, so two boxes are needed
- No German ABE; for competition and closed circuits
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls EV2 a top racing compound, and it sits at the competition end of the range. The material is made to deliver high stopping force from high speed again and again while resisting fade as temperatures rise over a session. A racing lining like this is at its strongest once it is working hot, so it belongs on a bike that spends its time on a circuit rather than in the morning queue.
Qualifying Sessions
In a qualifying session every braking zone is attacked, and the tenth lap has to feel the same as the second. On a CBR650F prepared for racing, that starts in the paddock. Fit the pads at home and bed them in during the first practice session with a few laps of building pressure, not in qualifying itself. Between sessions, look at the pads through the caliper and check the fluid reservoir; racing fluid should be changed more often than road fluid, and a lever that creeps back towards the bar is a warning. Clean the pistons whenever the pads come out, because rubber and brake dust collect quickly at racing pace. Mark your braking points in practice and move them later only a few metres at a time.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Honda CBR650F of 2014 to 2018 Accossato lists the AGPA72 on the version without ABS in its name and the AGPA81 on the ABS version, so compare pad shapes before ordering. The AGPA72 is also sold as Organic (OR), Sintered (ST) and EV1 street/track. The catalogue further names the AGPP185 for the rear and the DK230 disc.
Road Approval
These racing pads come without ABE or approval documents on our side and are meant for the circuit and competition only.
