DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Dorsoduro 1200 invites a certain kind of riding. With its supermoto stance, wide bar and big V-twin, it draws riders into empty car parks and practice areas to work on tight turns, slow balance and, for some, lifting the front wheel. All of that is clutch work, and all of it puts the bike on its side now and then. Accossato's LV008 replaces the clutch lever of the Dorsoduro 1200 of 2010 to 2016. Its blade sits on a hinge and may fold back when it meets the ground, and the distance to the grip is adjustable.
Key Features
- Replaces the clutch lever of the Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200, 2010 to 2016
- Designed for the original clutch master cylinder
- Hinge between base and blade, so the blade can fold back
- Reach adjuster on the black base
- RST blade with lightening cut-out, or solid NRST blade
- Available in black, blue, gold, green, orange, red and silver
- Standard-length blade
- No documented German ABE: track use only
Construction and Material Quality
Choosing between RST and NRST is the first decision with the LV008. RST means an opening in the blade that takes a little weight out; NRST means the blade stays solid. Both versions are CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised, like the black base they hinge from. The base does the stationary work: it holds the pivot on the Dorsoduro's clutch master cylinder and carries the adjuster for the distance to the grip. The blade does the moving work, both when you pull it and, if it is struck, when it folds. Seven colours are available for it.
Slow Circles and Dropped Bikes
Riders who practise on a Dorsoduro 1200 spend most of their time at walking pace. Full-lock turns, figure eights, balancing with the clutch slipping and the rear brake dragging: these drills build control that pays off everywhere else, and they keep the clutch in its friction zone for minutes at a time. A comfortable reach matters here, so set the blade where two fingers can hold the friction point without cramping. Practice also means falling over occasionally. At that speed a bike usually just lies down, and when it goes to the left, the clutch lever is often what touches first. With the LV008, the hinge can let the blade fold rather than break, which may be the difference between another drill and the end of the session. Check blade and adjuster after each drop, and keep this kind of practice off public roads.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Dorsoduro 1200 appears in Accossato's list for the LV008 from 2010 to 2016, with the lever fitted to the original clutch master cylinder. On the brake side, Accossato's list for this bike contains only a fixed lever, the EDB080, and there is a fixed clutch lever too, the ESC080, both for the same years. The Caponord 1200, which uses the same twin, also appears in Accossato's list for the LV008.
Road Approval
For German roads, no ABE is documented for this lever, so we sell it for track use.
