This page should start by talking you out of it. The RC 390 R is built for a closed circuit, and a circuit is the one environment that reliably supplies clean air: swept tarmac, no farm traffic, no gravel shoulder, no dry crosswind off a field. The P14 is Sprint Filter's answer to dust. Fit the PM200P14 to a machine that only ever sees a race surface and you have paid flow for a hazard that is not there. There are good reasons to own this element for an RC 390 R, and the circuit is not one of them.

When it is the right element after all

Plenty of these machines are not circuit-only. Some are ridden on the road, some are trailered along dusty service roads to the meeting and stored in a barn between events, and some spend their winters in air that a race surface never produces. The medium should be chosen for where the filter does its breathing, which is not always where the bike does its lap times. If dry, gritty air is part of the picture, the finer nonwoven earns its keep — and swapping back is one panel and a few minutes.

The two things worth saying plainly

First, this element passes less air than the P08 and far less than the F1-85, and on a machine used at sustained high rpm that is the wrong end of the range to be at. Second, no filter of any medium makes a standard motorcycle noticeably more powerful. An insert filter keeps intake restriction low and keeps it from rising between services; that is the honest description, and it applies equally to the element we would recommend instead.

Care and cleaning

Between outings the PM200P14 wants a compressor and a minute: air on the clean face, driven out through the medium so the dust leaves by the route it came in. A full wash uses lukewarm water and a mild detergent, rinsed until the water runs clear, and then complete drying in open air with no heat and no flame anywhere near it. Fitment & Compatibility

Made for the KTM RC 390 R, 2022 to 2026, in the standard airbox. The same code is listed against eleven KTM and Husqvarna machines, road models included, which is why the year matters as much as the model name. The Fitment tab lists them.
