DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP SPD 008 is a superbike right-hand switch for the K46 S1000RR running BMW's own Stock Pro dashboard. Universal clamp holes, machined Ergal, and it needs a racing loom.
Key Features
- BMW S1000RR (2015–2018)
- Requires a BMW Stock Pro dashboard
- Universal hole pattern for either master cylinder
- CNC-milled Ergal 7075
- Sealed switch elements
- Racing loom required
What a Superbike Switch Actually Is
It is not a race switch with more buttons. A superbike cluster talks to an aftermarket data dashboard rather than to the motorcycle's own ECU, and the buttons are mapped by that dashboard: lap marker, page change, mapping selection, whatever the system offers. Fitting one to a standard bike achieves nothing, because there is nothing on the other end of the wires.
BMW Stock Pro Specifically
This unit is built for BMW's own Stock Pro system, the dashboard supplied for the HP race kits and used widely in national Superstock classes. It is not compatible with a MoTeC or an I2M installation; those need their own part. The dependency runs both ways, and checking which dashboard is actually fitted before ordering saves a return.
The Racing Loom Is Not Optional
The switch cannot plug into the standard BMW harness. A racing loom has to be in place, which is a bigger job than fitting the switch and usually happens at the same time as the dashboard. Anyone ordering this part who has not yet done that work should treat it as the third item on a list, not the first.
Universal Holes on a Race Build
A K46 prepared to this level will not be running the standard front master cylinder. The universal pattern accommodates the offset clamp geometry of aftermarket radial units as well as the factory spacing, so the brake specification stays an open question rather than a constraint imposed by the switchgear.
