DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 050 closes the GSX-8S's sidestand circuit so the bike runs with the stand removed.

- Bypasses the sidestand safety switch
- Suppresses the resulting dashboard fault
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
- No cutting and no splicing
- Fully reversible to standard
A Genuinely New Engine
Suzuki designed the 776 cc parallel twin from nothing rather than adapting anything older. A 270 degree crank and two balancer shafts give it the character of a bigger twin.
Eighty-Two Horsepower
With the torque arriving low and staying flat. Suzuki aimed the 8S at riders who wanted usable rather than impressive and the market responded well.
Why the Stand Comes Off
Track conversions and supermoto builds both start by removing everything unnecessary. On a bike this new that is already happening.
An Open Circuit
The ECU reads a missing switch as a deployed stand. The engine cuts in gear and the build stalls until the loop is closed.
Closing It Correctly
The eliminator presents the expected state rather than shorting pins. Nothing is stored and no warning appears on the display.
Three Model Years
This fitment covers 2023 to 2025, the first years of the platform. Suzuki is still expanding the range around this engine.
Nothing Cut
Suzuki's own connector. On a motorcycle likely still under warranty, an untouched loom is worth the small amount it costs.
Suzuki's Return to Development
After years of reusing old engines, the 8S platform was genuinely new. It changed what the market expected the company to be capable of.
Leave It on a Road Bike
With a stand still fitted, the interlock prevents a low-speed accident that catches experienced riders. It should stay connected.
Shared Across Three Bikes
The 776 cc twin appears in the 8S, the 8R and the V-Strom 800. Developing one engine and building three motorcycles around it is how a manufacturer the size of Suzuki competes with companies several times larger.
