DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ACC MV002 shortens the F3 Ago 800's throttle rotation to sixty degrees, which is the difference between reaching full opening comfortably and running out of wrist.
Key Features
- MV Agusta F3 Ago 800 (2012–2020)
- Ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Diagnostic reset required after fitting
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
The Giacomo Agostini Edition
MV built a limited run in the world champion's colours with a numbered plaque and a race exhaust. Underneath it is the same triple with the same very direct throttle.
The Reset Is Not Optional
The controller has to relearn the closed position after the assembly is changed, and that needs a diagnostic tool. Skipping it leaves the bike running badly or not at all.
Cruise Control
Where the motorcycle has it, the system continues to operate through the same inputs. The grip's mechanical ratio is not something it reads.
Fault Codes Without the Reset
The controller compares what it reads against what it stored and reports a throttle position fault. It is not a subtle failure and it appears immediately.
Road Legality
The throttle is part of the motorcycle's controls, and a part that changes their operation is worth declaring where local rules require it.
Where the Time Goes
Half an hour at the bar, then a diagnostic session. Anybody without their own interface should book the second half before starting the first.
Hand Position and Lever Reach
A shorter throttle sweep changes where the fingers sit relative to the brake lever at full opening. Adjusting the span afterwards is usually worth five minutes.
The Mistakes People Make
Fitting the grip before the assembly is on the bar. Guessing the clamp torque and stripping a thread. Cutting off expensive grips with no replacements to hand. And finishing on a Saturday afternoon with nobody available to run the reset until Tuesday.
Nothing to Maintain
No interval, no lubrication and no adjustment. Fitted correctly it is the last throttle assembly the motorcycle needs, which is a reasonable thing to expect from a machined component doing a simple job.
