DescriptionThe whole story▼

A loaded Moto Guzzi V9 X-Track 850 on a wet descent is where the rear brake earns its keep. Accossato's AGPA28 rear pad in Sintered (ST) is listed for the X-Track of 2017 and is aimed at riders who tour with luggage, carry a passenger or ride through the colder months. With more weight over the back wheel, the rear brake does real work, and this compound is made to keep doing it in rain, heat and cold.

Key Features

  • AGPA28 rear pads for the 2017 V9 X-Track 850
  • Sintered (ST) mixture, article AGPA28ST
  • Accossato: constant grip at high and low temperatures, effective in the wet
  • Stable pedal feel with pillion and panniers
  • Suited to year-round use
  • Reliable on long, winding descents
  • One set for the rear caliper

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says the Sintered compound holds a high and constant grip level whatever the temperature and keeps gripping well on wet roads. On a rear brake that sees rain, road salt and dirt from the back tyre, that stability is valuable. The brand adds that its pads are made for low wear and reduced fade.

Touring Two-Up

When the V9 X-Track carries a pillion and panniers, the weight moves rearwards and the rear brake becomes more useful. On a long descent a gentle, steady pressure on the pedal helps keep the bike settled while the front does the heavy work. The Sintered pad keeps its bite even when the disc is wet from spray or has warmed up over several kilometres of downhill riding, so the pedal behaves the same way from the top of the pass to the valley. For riders who commute through winter, the compound's stability in cold and wet weather is equally important. Check the rear pad thickness regularly, because the rear pad is hidden and easily forgotten, and clean the caliper after rides on salted roads.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA28 for the rear of the 2017 V9 850 X-Track; no other years are listed. The front pad for the same bike is AGPA96. The rear plate is also made in Organic (OR) for calmer, mostly urban use. One box is enough for the rear caliper.

Road Approval

AGPA28ST is sold without a German ABE; we have no approval certificate for it. The pads are meant for racing and competition.

Scope of Delivery

One box with two Sintered rear pads for one caliper.
