DescriptionThe whole story▼

Riding schools at circuits are a proven way to learn what a superbike can really do, and the MV Agusta F4 1000 RR from 2012 to 2020 is a rewarding bike to learn on. This front pad set in EV1 street/track compound is designed for riders who come to a coached circuit day on their own bike, ride the sessions and then ride home.

Key Features

  • EV1 street/track compound for the F4 1000 RR front
  • Listed for 2012 to 2020
  • Excellent grip in road riding and amateur circuit use, per Accossato
  • Well suited to coached track days and riding schools
  • Consistent feel as the instructor asks for later stops
  • Two pads per box, one caliper

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato positions EV1 as a street and track mixture that grips excellently on public roads and in amateur circuit riding. It is the compound designed for people who ride on both. The company's guiding aims for all pads, a slow rate of wear, temperatures kept under control so the brake stays consistent, and powerful stopping, carry over. On a four-cylinder superbike, those aims are tested hard as soon as the rider starts braking from circuit speeds.

Learning with an Instructor

On a coached day, an instructor rides ahead, then behind, and gives feedback between sessions. A typical piece of advice is to brake harder and shorter, then release progressively into the corner. Following that advice on an F4 1000 RR puts far more heat into the front pads than any road ride. EV1 is designed to handle that step while staying pleasant on the ride home. Riders who progress to racing tend to move to EV2 or ZXC, while those who ride mainly on the road may choose ST for this bike.

What to Pack

Bring a spare set of pads if you plan a full day of sessions, along with the tools to swap them. Fit the new set a few days beforehand so it can bed in on normal roads, and check whether the organiser recommends fresh fluid. Before the first session, clean the discs, confirm that the lever is firm, and take a look at pad thickness at every break.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the MV Agusta F4 1000 RR, Accossato catalogues this front pad from 2012 to 2020. The rear caliper of the RR takes AGPA118, which is listed for the RR of 2010 to 2013, the RR Corsa Corta of 2012 to 2015 and the older F4 1000 R 312 R. Two front calipers mean two boxes for a full front change.

Road Approval

This pad has no ABE, test mark or other road approval in our documents. It is sold for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two EV1 pads in the box, one caliper's worth. No pins or clips in the package.
